Coldwell Banker Blackstone in Rancho Cucamonga participated in their first “Homes For Dogs Project” event this year. This project originally started in 2015, with a goal of reaching 20,000 adoptions through Coldwell Banker affiliated offices nationwide. The adoption weekend is part of the Homes for Dogs Project, a three-year campaign launched by Coldwell Banker and Adopt-a-Pet.com, North America’s largest non-profit pet adoption website.

Helping Upland Shelter

At Blackstone, we planned a local pet adoption event to join other offices around the nation in finding pets a home. On September 10, our office partnered up with the Friends of Upland Animal Shelter, in Upland, California. We have been finding homes for people in Rancho Cucamonga for over 20 years. We’d like to help as many pets find their fur-ever homes, too.

Homes For Dogs at Upland Animal Shelter

During the pet adoption event, we saw 10 animals get adopted just in the small-time we were there. For example, one family took home an adorable white and tan Parson Russell Terrier. At the event we shared refreshments and gave out lots of cool prizes. Not only did we want to help pets find homes, but we also wanted to raise awareness and donations for a great local shelter. Those who were at the event noticed that many of the guests who stopped by were extremely interested in adopting in the future. We were extremely excited to participate in this adoption weekend, and look forward to continuing adoption awareness in the community for the future.

Pets Make a Home a Better Place

We truly believe pets make your home a better place to live. Some even say that a house is not a home without a pet. Pets allow us to live a healthier lifestyle. Dogs encourage you to get outside and exercise. For some, pets are used as a way to reduce stress in your life. Whatever benefit a pet brings into your home, consider adopting and searching for a pet in your local area! Even if a furry friend is not in your immediate future, reach out to your local shelter for volunteering opportunities. Great adoption shelters, like the one in Upland, are helped by their local community members and neighbors.
